Magnificent Millinery for Mothers!

Writer: Victoria ConwayVictoria Conway

'Tis the season for weddings and it is not very often that you get the chance to wear a hat - so now that you have the chance, absolutely go for it! A wedding is a very special day for every mother and the bride and you're going to need the perfect hat.

The Hattery at Brundall is trading in its seventh year and the collection is always growing - there is a style and shade to suit every individual. Hats can be hired or purchased, and situated just six miles east of Norwich in the Broadland village of Brundall, with convenient parking, you will receive a warm welcome and a personal service.

Appointments are just for you, to try on as many different styles as you wish with your beautiful outfit. You are very welcome to bring a friend or family member to help you choose. If you need a matching clutch bag, then we have a fabulous selection of those too!

Do Mothers of the Bride and Groom need to wear a hat?

The answer is, of course, yes!  At The Hattery I am here to guide you with my expertise with a stunning range of headwear and if you do not want to wear a hat, why, there is the most incredible creation - the hatinator!

Hatinators are worn like a fascinator, but look like a classic hat. Sassy and exciting, they are worn slanting across the right eyebrow, creating an air of mystery whilst looking incredibly chic. We also have a range of beautiful fascinators for the evening reception when your hat has been taken off, but the wedding celebrations continue.

If there is one person who can pull off a hat it's the Mother of the Bride and the Mother of the Groom and the mothers' outfits are as much as under the watchful eye of the guests as the brides - so no pressure Mum's.

Here at The Hattery I will help you choose the hat that makes you feel confident and comfortable. Some may be concerned that they will look overdressed, but this can never be the case. Your hat does not need to match the colour of your outfit exactly, however, you should choose a colour that tones well and that will bring the whole look together. I am here to help you find the perfect statement millinery to compliment to your outfit.

Hats for a wedding are a quintessential English tradition, wear your hat, hatinator or fascinator with aplomb and enjoy the experience. I look forward to meeting and assisting you in choosing the hat of your dreams! Book your appointment here.
